Nick Mwaluko

Point Scholar  2006 – 2009

Nick attended Columbia University on scholarship and fellowship, on the Dean’s list every semester and graduated magna cum laude. Nick also received a Masters in Fine Art in playwriting at Columbia University, having his play Waafrika premiering with critical acclaim, winning numerous awards, television and movie adaptations currently under negotiation plus translations into several languages. Other plays include S/He, Blueprint for an African Lesbian, Asymmetrical We, Life is About the Kill, Queering MacBeth, Trailer Park Tundra, and more.

Nick has written for the Huffington Post, Washington Times, Reuters News Agency in New York and Kenya, Columbia University Spectator, Chimurenga Press, and other publications. Nick is currently writing a novel negotiating and navigating pronouns and interested in opportunities geared towards writing.
