Tanene Allison

Point Scholar 2005 – 2006

Upon her graduation from Harvard, Tanene went to work for thinkMTV, MTV's political coverage campaign. Presently Tanene continues to work in social justice and civil rights media. In additional to working on media coverage of civil rights issues, Tanene regularly writes and blogs for a variety of publications. She was actively engaged in the LBGT work of the Obama Campaign. When not working, Tanene is often found collaborating with various writers, artists and musicians, coming up with new ways to tell stories and merge the political with the artistic. She still counts Patti Smith, Dorothy Allison and June Jordan as her top heroes, and attempts daily to live as fiercely as they all have.

Point offers mentorship, leadership development and community service training to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) students.
