Regional Leadership Conference (RLF)
Regional Leadership Forums (RLFs) take place in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and Washington, DC between January and March. The RLFs are activities that bring scholars, alumni, regents, trustees, mentors and staff together for an afternoon or evening of community building with our Point family. For example, last year's forums included a dinner in the home of Regent Brian Branton featuring State Department employee Mira Patel for the Washington, DC area; a lunch and tour of the Transgender Law Center in San Francisco; a tour of the Center on Halsted in Chicago; and a potluck dinner in the home of Regent JP Schuerman in Los Angeles.
A required program of the Point Foundation scholarship, scholars attend the RLF nearest to them, or in some cases, the location nearest their mentors, who are also invited. Board members are invited to attend in their home cities, as well as in any other city which may be convenient to them, or already included in travel plans. Each RLF is planned by a committee based in the hosting city, with coordination by Point Program Team staff. Current plans are as follows:
