James Cummings

Jim Cummings recently joined Time Warner Inc. in July 2010 as Senior Vice President of Global Compensation and Benefits.

Jim works closely with Time Warner’s Compensation & Human Development Committee on a wide range of issues relating to executive compensation and employment and is responsible for the design and delivery of Time Warner’s compensation and benefits programs. His work includes both domestic and international rewards, and he works closely with each of the Company’s divisions to ensure pay and benefit programs support each group’s unique talent and employee profiles.

Prior to joining Time Warner, Jim was a Principal in Towers Perrin’s (now Towers Watson’s) Executive Compensation Practice. In that role, Jim served as trusted advisor and primary point of contact for approximately 20 clients, including management teams and Compensation Committees, for all areas of executive compensation assessment and design. For his clients, Jim acted as an ongoing business partner to ensure program alignment with business strategy and priorities, ongoing market evolution, and regulatory or other technical developments. He worked across a number of industries, but his primary client relationships involved other entertainment and media companies, including The Walt Disney Company, DreamWorks, Sony Pictures, and Comcast Entertainment Group. For over 15 years, Jim worked in Towers Perrin’s Boston, Seattle and San Francisco offices.

Jim received a B.S. degree in economics from Stanford University, where he graduated with distinction. Jim continues to be actively involved with Stanford, leading a variety of alumni and fundraising activities. He also attended Oxford University, where he studied international trade and European monetary integration.
