Vincent Garcia

Program Director

Vincent Garcia serves as Program Director for Point Foundation leading a team of four individuals who manage scholar and alumni programming. Point Foundation supports eighty-two LGBTQ undergraduate and graduate scholars with scholarship funding, mentoring, leadership training, and a tremendous community of support.  With 25 years of experience in recruitment and college advising, he possesses expertise in selective undergraduate admissions, college counseling, and diversity recruitment. Prior to joining Point, Vincent’s experience included time at California Lutheran University, Pomona College, and Occidental College where he led the Multi-Cultural Recruitment Team and freshman recruitment travel strategies. With an expertise in college admissions, he became Director of College Counseling at local Los Angeles high school. Vincent’s professional philosophy and work demonstrates an intersectional approach to access and equity in secondary and higher education.  

Point offers mentorship, leadership development and community service training to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) students.
