Ryan A. Miller, Ph.D., serves as Director for Inclusion and Equity at The University of Texas at Austin. In his role, he leads development and administration of the Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action program for the university. Ryan is an accomplished higher education administrator, researcher, and instructor, with professional experience at three universities spanning the areas of admissions, diversity affairs, federal TRiO programs, institutional research, intergroup dialogue, LGBTQ affairs, and student development.
Ryan received his Ph.D. in educational administration at The University of Texas at Austin, with a doctoral portfolio in disability studies. He received his master's degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and bachelor's degree in journalism with honors from UT-Austin, earning both degrees as a Point Scholar. Ryan’s research and publishing focus on the conditions for creating inclusive campus cultures in higher education and students' intersectional identity development processes, with emphasis on disability, gender identity, and sexual orientation.
Ryan serves on the board of directors for Point Foundation and editorial board for the Journal of Student Affairs Research and Practice. He previously served as the founding co-chair of the LGBT Network of the Ex-Students’ Association of The University of Texas (Texas Exes), as a member of the Board of Trustees of Point Foundation, and as a member of the Board of Directors of Oasis, the GLBT Center of Northeast Florida.
Ryan is also a member of Point's Board of Directors.
