Point Scholar 2006 – 2009
Ceceilia studied vocal performance and music theory at New England Conservatory of Music. While there, Ceceilia maintained highest honors on the Dean’s List each semester while performing and producing events at Boston Center for the Arts, Douglass Street Music Collective, Radio Papesse (Siena, Italy), McGill University and Yellow Barn Chamber Music Festival. She volunteered in the Boston community, served as a Resident Assistant, and led the Conservatory’s Queer Performing Arts Alliance. Ceceilia now works as a Brand Strategist at Sametz Blackstone Associates and performs as much as possible. Critic Matthew Guerrieri of the Boston Globe recently reviewed one of Ceceilia’s performances of Morton Feldman’s 4 Songs to e.e. Cummings, saying “Soprano Ceceilia Allwein made dulcet work of the delicate, precipitous leaps.”
Ceceilia’s goal is to take an increasingly active role in the performing arts community of Boston, fostering community for artists who want to make a difference and increasing visibility for performers advocating queer perspectives
Ceceilia is also a member of Point's Board of Trustees.
