Star power met scholar power on Saturday, September 15 at the inaugural Voices On Point fundraising dinner and concert in Los Angeles. More than 300 people attended the event and enjoyed performances by Robin Thicke, Mark Ballas, Rock Mafia, John Tartaglia and Ellen Greene. The evening was hosted by Hal Sparks and included appearances by Lance Bass, Drita from VH1’s Mob Wives, Queen Latifah, Jenny McCarthy from VH1’s The Jenny McCarthy Show, Busy Philipps from ABC’s Cougar Town, Jaime Pressly, Brandon Routh from CBS’ Partners and Thomas Sadoski from HBO’s The Newsroom.
A highlight of the evening was when Michael Urie, star of CBS’s highly anticipated Partners, presented the Point Inspiration Award to Josie Thomas, CBS’s Senior VP & Chief Diversity Officer. The award was given to CBS in recognition of the company being a champion for respect and inclusion of the LGBTQ community; both in front of and behind the camera.
Voices On Point was a success on many fronts, none the least being that it is the most successful Los Angeles fundraising event Point has held to date.
