John Merritt
Information Systems Manager
John Merritt brings over 12 years of experience in
information technology with specialized expertise in
application systems and database management. His previous
experience includes positions at technology giant IBM, where
he worked directly with both Fortune 500 clients and
education/government entities implementing enterprise
solutions. John led or served as a resource on projects
ranging in size from small scale to large system
implementations consisting of thousands of users and
multiple complexities. Prior to IBM John spent several years
at Corio, Inc., an early stage Silicon Valley startup
company funded by venture capitalist KPCB (Kleiner, Perkins,
Caufield and Byers). Initially John helped build the
application systems department from the ground up, starting
with just one client and eventually implementing and/or
supporting 100+ client systems generating several million
dollars in annual revenues. John also moved into various
roles helping to build and manage the Change Management
function, and later worked with clients on new
implementations or managing existing systems. Eventually
Corio was bought by IBM Corp, where John continued his
career. Prior to Corio, John spent over 5 years at Household
International in Chicago, IL (now a division of HSBC Bank)
where he worked as an IS/financial auditor and an accounting
systems analyst.
John is a California native and was raised primarily in
Encino, CA, in suburban Los Angeles. Outside of his career,
John is an avid investor and follows the financial markets
and business news daily.
