Four Seasons Hotel Boston was the site for Point’s second annual fundraiser in Boston, held on October 2nd. Attended by more than 240 guests, the event raised over $140,000 to support Point's programs (including over $50,000 in corporate sponsorships, in-kind contributions totaling $17,500, individual contributions totaling almost $45,000 and a matching gift of $26,500).

After a welcome from Event Co-Chairs Regent Michael Poirier and Trustee John Wolfarth, guests heard from Co-Founder Bruce Lindstrom and Executive Director & CEO Jorge Valencia. Point Scholars Brittany Bjurstrom and Jack Cen also shared their personal and emotional stories of hope, highlighting Point’s support around scholarship, leadership and mentoring. A total of 12 Boston-area scholars attended the event and interacted with guests.

The two-hour reception continued to build awareness and support for Point among members of Boston’s LGBT, straight allies and corporate communities. Attendance increased by 100 guests over the previous year, and the number of corporate sponsors more than doubled to 29. Platinum Sponsors included PricewaterhouseCoopers and Mullen. Metro Boston Newspaper, a subsidiary of Metro International, was the exclusive media sponsor.

Attendees who joined the Cornerstone Society were entered into drawings for a Bermuda Escape to Mandarin Oriental's Elbow Beach Resort via American Airlines, a Four Seasons Hotel Boston Getaway and four VIP tickets to an upcoming Madonna concert.
