Ryan A. Miller, Ph.D.
Dr. Ryan A. Miller, Ed.M., serves as Director of Campus Climate and Student Engagement at The University of Texas at Austin. In his role, he focuses on campus climate initiatives including bias incident response and diversity education, and he also works with Federal TRIO Student Support Services. Previously, Ryan directed the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Resource Center at the University of North Florida, where he also served as an adjunct faculty member in education, designing and teaching Intergroup Dialogue courses. He received his master’s degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and bachelor’s degree in journalism cum laude from The University of Texas at Austin, both as a Point Scholar, and is currently pursuing a PhD in educational administration at UT-Austin. His research focuses on the conditions for creating inclusive campus cultures and students' intersectional identity development processes in higher education.
Ryan has served as the founding co-chair of the LGBT Network of the Ex-Students’ Association of The University of Texas (Texas Exes), as a member of the Board of Trustees of Point Foundation, and as a member of the Board of Directors of Oasis, the GLBT Center of Northeast Florida.
