Pete Subkoviak is the Senior Health Care Campaign Coordinator at SEIU 775NW in Seattle, Washington, where he works on health care, insurance, and fiscal policy. He is also active in local LGBT and political groups and has a keen interest in Millennial issues such as the fiscal sustainability of governments with aging populations, the 21st century jobs economy, global warming, and higher education.
Pete was a 2012 Point Foundation Scholar, earning his Master of Public Health degree from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. While in graduate school he served as a policy fellow for nationally-renown author Wendell Potter and later spent a summer working on health care issues for the White House Domestic Policy Council.
Pete is originally from Madison, Wisconsin and worked on health and LGBT policy in Chicago, Illinois for several years before attending his master's program. When Pete is not at work he enjoys playing soccer, going to rock shows, writing, and spending time with his family.
