Works to make public schools safe and bias-free for LGBT students, defending their free speech in school, and working to help students start gay-straight alliance clubs.

Advocates for Youth
Helps young people make informed and responsible decisions about their reproductive and sexual health.

Advocates for Youth for Latina/o youth on various physical, emotional and mental health (including sexual orientation and gender) issues. This site also has a listing of centers nationwide that offer services to Latinas/o's.

Asian and Pacific Islander Queers United for Action (AQUA)
DC-based volunteer organization serving the LGBTQ members of the Asian and Pacific Islander community in the metro Washington, DC area.

Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice
Provides critically needed financial and technical support to lesbian-led, LGBTQI and progressive organizations.

Audre Lorde Project
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Two Spirit, Trans and Gender Non Conforming People of Color center for community organizing, focusing on the New York City area.

Badge Society
An online community for the LGBT and their supporters including forums and blogs. Badge Society is also dedicated to providing the latest news that impacts the LGBT community.

Bay Area American Indian Two-Spirits
Exists to restore and recover the role of Two-Spirited people within the American Indian community by creating forums for the spiritual, cultural, and artistic expression of Two-Spirit people.

Blacklight Online
An online magazine for LGBT people of color.

Campus Pride
The primary objective of Campus Pride is to develop necessary resources, programs and services to support LGBT and ally students on college campuses across the United States.

Deaf & Queer

Information center for, by and about the Deaf Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Transsexual, Intersex and Questioning communities (hereafter referred to as the "Deaf Queer community").

Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN)
Education organization focused on ensuring safe schools for all students regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression.

Gay-Straight Alliance Network
Youth leadership organization that connects school-based Gay-Straight Alliances (GSAs) to each other and community resources through peer support, leadership development and training.

GenderPac
Ensures classrooms, communities, and workplaces are safe places for every person to learn, grow, and succeed, whether or not they conform to expectations for masculinity or femininity.

Hetrick-Martin Institute
Provides after school programs, supportive services, internships and advocacy & capacity building. It is the home of the Harvey Milk High School in NYC.

International Foundation for Gender Education (IFGE)
Promotes acceptance for transgender people.

International Gay & Lesbian Human Rights Commission
Dedicated to human rights advocacy on behalf of people who experience discrimination or abuse on the basis of their actual or perceived sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.

 

Intersex Society of North America
Devoted to systemic change to end shame, secrecy, and unwanted genital surgeries for people born with an anatomy that someone decided is not standard for male or female.

LGBT-Friendly Campus Climate Index

Provides online access to search colleges and universities based on their LGBT-Friendly campus life.

Larkin Street Youth
Provides street outreach and emergency shelter, primary medical care, transitional housing, and job training and scholarship assistance to get homeless and at risk kids off the streets.

The National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE)
A social justice organization dedicated to advancing the equality of transgender people through advocacy, collaboration and empowerment.

National Consortium of Higher Education Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Resource Professionals
Goal is to support colleagues and develop curriculum to professionally enhance this work; to seek climate improvement on campuses; and to advocate for policy change, program development, and establishment of LGBT Office/Centers.

National Transgender Advocacy Coalition
Provides information on the transgender community, find resources for coming out, connect with others in the community and get involved & join the cause.

Parents, Friends, and Families of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG)
Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays provides opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity, and acts to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity.

People with a History
Presents the history of LGBT. It includes hundreds of original texts, discussions, and [soon] images, and addresses LGBT history in all periods, and in all regions of the world.

South Bay Queer & Asian
Provides a fun and safe environment for queer Asians and Pacific Islanders in the South Bay to come out and be comfortable with their sexual identity and ethnicity, as well as be vital and visible to the greater community. Sylvia Rivera Law Project - NYC-based law project that provides free legal services to low-income and homeless transgender, gender variant, and intersex people facing gender identity discrimination.

Online health and fitness magazine for Trans, gender variant, and intersex people.

Trans Mentors International
Provides aid, support and assistance to Trans-identified individuals.

Trans Youth Family Allies
Empowers children and families by partnering with educators, service providers and communities, to develop supportive environments in which gender may be expressed and respected.

Transgender On-campus Non-discrimination Information (TONI) Project
The TONI Project is an online resource for trans people to share information about policies and practices at colleges and universities across the country. Prospective students can use TONI to explore the schools they are applying to, and current students and allies can discover new ideas for organizing and transforming their campuses.

Trikone
Non-profit organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people of South Asian descent based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Zuna Institute
National Advocacy Organization for Black Lesbians that addresses the needs of black lesbians in the areas of Health, Public Policy, Economic Development, and Education.
